Spain secured a narrow 2-1 win over France at Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Guwahati to confirm their quarterfinals berth in the FIFA U17 World Cup Indian 2017.
France was first to take the lead in the 34th minute through Lenny Pintor. However minute before the halftime, Juan Miranda made a fine run to get the equalizer for Spain.
Inspired Spain took the second half with more confidence and called France keeper Yahia Fofana quite a number of time. Both the side took the chance on the target failing to convert the chances created.
As the match seemed destined for a penalty shoot-out Jose Lara went down under the challenge from French defender Oumar Solet inside the box conceding penalty in tough minutes.
