Emil Forsberg´s goal was enough to confirm Blagult´s quarterfinal berth in FIFA World Cup for the first time since 1994...
Sweden beat Switzerland 1-0 in the last clash of the Round of 16 and advanced into the quarterfinals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup at Russia.
The only game dame in from Emil Forsberg in the 66th minute of the game and this for the first time since 1994 Sweden advanced into to quarterfinals in World Cup
Switzerland was the more attacking side for most of the game, dominating possession. But Sweden´s well-organized defense seemed always to be on hand to block the shot.
Sweden broke the deadlock in the 66th minute through Emil Forsberg, whose strike after some passes around the outskirts of the box took a little deflection off defender Manuel Akanji, enough to wrong beat Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer.
Sweden was awarded a penalty in the dying minutes, but the decision was overturned after video replay as it was ruled to be outside the box. But it could not yield anything and Sweden finished confirming the quarter-final berth.
