United Sikkim Football Club has outplayed Sikkim Aakraman Football Club on Monday in the ongoing Sikkim Football Association Premier Division Sikkim-League 2018 here at Paljor Stadium. A brace by Sanjay Chettri helped the United Sikkim Football Club to register 4-1 victory to secure three more points in the point tally of the league.
The first half was full of attacks and counter attacks but both teams failed to convert into goals. The first half has almost ended goalless draw until Sanjay Chettri scored the lead for the United Sikkim FC in the 44th minute.
When Sikkim Aakraman FC players were trying to equalise the game, Sanjay Chettri completed his brace to take the lead of the United Sikkim FC to 2-0 in the 66th minute and soon his teammate, Klip Barfungpa extended the lead of the team to 3-0 in the 68th minute.
A goal by Bigendra Rai in the 77th minute gave some hope to the team to come back into the match but another goal by Tshering Zangpo in the 85th minute sealed 4-1 victory of the United Sikkim FC.
With the end of the first phase of the league, the United Sikkim FC has remained undefeated so far in the league with 13 points from 4 win and 1 draw, while Sikkim Aakraman FC has 10 points from 3 win, 1 loss and 1 draw.
Likewise, the State Sports Academy has 10 points, SAI Namch and Sikkim Himalayan Sporting Club has 6 points each, Boys Club, Gangtok has 3 points, Unicorn Football Club has 1 point and Pakyong United Football Club with no any points from 4 matches each.
The second phase of the league will be resumed on 17 August after the Independence Day Football Tournament 2018, which will be played between 08 to 15 August, at Paljor Stadium.
