Chanmari FC pulled off a victory against bottom strugglers Bethlehem Vengthlang FC with a stoppage time goal from Laldampuia on Wednesday evening to keep their hopes of reaching the semi-finals alive.
Laldampuia netted twice for the two time champions while their opponents find themselves in dire situation as they not only need three points against league leaders Chhinga Veng FC in their final match but they will also need Ramhlun North FC to drop points.
Chanmari FC had the earlier goal threats as MC Malsawmzuala struck over the bar just minutes after the start. They did find the net when Laldampuia struck in a beautiful freekick on the 15th minute.
Dampuia twice had a chance to further their lead in the first half in a dominating spell.
Bethlehem Vengthlang FC pulled one back right before halftime through H. Lalhlimpuia who headed in a corner from Lalchhuanpuia.
The goal raised BVT as they went on looking for the winner. Goalscorer Lalhlimpuia almost got another in the second half but he could not beat Chanmari´s MS Dawngliana.
It was Chanmari FC who scored in the end when substitute Lalnunzama set up Laldampuia who did not miss from close range.
