Madhur Milan Sangh´s phenomenal performance continues as they storm into the semifinals of the Desun Siliguri Premier League unbeaten in Group A
The last match of Group A in Desun Siliguri Premier League was played between Madhur Milan Sangh and Amukta Pariwar where in defending champions (Madhur Milan Sangh) secured 2-0 win on Monday evening to continue their phenomenal campaign in the 2nd Edition of Siliguri Premier League.
Underdog Amukta Pariwar needed a win to survive them for the last four. They started off on a positive note and had the first real clean chance to take the lead in 13 minutes but Rahul Roy ended up missing an open net.
Madhur Milan Sangh who filled most of the reserve players picked up gradually and started keeping Amukta Parwar busy at their own half.
Ganesh Limboo who had the sole responsibility at the forefront could have scored not less than three goals had he been more aggressive today. Ganesh Limboo, although tops the highest scorers tally.
Five minutes before the end of the first session Amukta Pariwar almost found the net when Bidur Chettri´s free kick from 35 yards distance from the left wing missed the crossbar by a whisker.
At the start of the second half, Amukta rested Ghyabo and introduce Shubham who brought in some flow in Amuktas build´s up. Five minutes past an hour mark defending champions broke the deadlock through Pratik Lama.
Seven minutes later Ganesh Limboo had another good chance to double the lead for Mahur Sangh but he missed it once again.
Amukta Pariwar was looking for every possible way to fight back but lacked the teamwork that could have brought any change in the score sheet.
Underperforming Ghanesh Limboo finally found the net in the added minute and sealed the deal for the reigning Champions.
With the win, Madhur Milan Sangh maintained their unbeaten run in the group stage and finish up at the top of the table with 16 points from 6 games. Amukta Pariwar, on the other hand, lost their final opportunity to grab semifinal spot and finishes 3rd in the group with 5 points from 6 games.
Amukta´s defeat paved way for Apex FC in the semifinals who was standing at 2nd place with 8 points and was eagerly keeping an eye on today´s encounter.
