Raj Subbas Sole goal helped Kanchenjunga FC earn three points in the 16th match of the Siliguri Premier League

In the sixteenth match of Siliguri Premier League, host Amukta Pariwar received a narrow 1-0 defeat by Kanchanjunga FC at Saheed Nagar Public Ground on Monday evening.

At the kickoff, Kanchanjunga FC was at the bottom of the table with 5 points with just one win while Amukta were at the 3rd place with  8 points.

The home side created an opportunity early with Suraj Tamang rushing in with the ball but Nantu Majumdar came off the line to clear the ball away for a corner, Two minutes later visitors countered but Nikhil Chettris shot was beautifully punched away by Amukta custodian Ajay Nag.

Amukta earned the first free kick of the match from around 35-yard area. Samir Tamanags take falls in front of the goalkeeper who collected in his second attempt.  Siligrui Rhinos came into the game gradually and earned themselves a free kick that was brilliantly taken by Subroto  Soren but Ajay Nag was best in his position to keep the ball away.

In spite of some close chances, the score remains unchanged at the break.

Kanchanjunga took the lead early in the third minute of the second half when the right wing corner kick was tapped in by Raj Subba, Ten minutes later Amukata Pariwar earned a free kick after Suraj Tamang was brought down inside the box referee pointed towards the penalty spot.  

Edrish stepped in to take the shot but his shot was well judged by Nantu Majumdar who made a remarkable save, Amukta thus wasted a golden opportunity to level.
Kanchanjunga maintained ball possession and were able to keep themselves alive in the contest by jumping up in the table with 8 points and a match remaining.
