In the last match of their SPL campaign, Royal FC hosted Madhur Milan Sangh where the host received a close 2-3 defeat in an enthralling encounter that was not less than any semifinal match at Royal Army Ground.
Royal FC, who needed full three points to qualify for the finals had the home ground advantage while Madhur Milan Sangh was at a comfortable position and needed just a point from the clash but were worried due to the absence of their key players Niwas Rana, Prashant Ria and Siddhant Chhetri.

The game picked up rather slowly with Madhur Milan Sangh just looking for a point and were confined to back line initially. Royal FC took advantage and took the lead in the 17th minute through Afzal Ansaris header who perfectly timed Satyam Sharams corner kick.

Madhur Milan Sangh responded well and got the equalizer within the next five minutes when Ganesh Limboo fitted the ball at the right side of the box for Sanjay Toppo who taped the ball seeing Royal custodian out of line.

Madhur Sangh, needed just a point, looked content with the draw and did not shown much aggression and took the game to 1-1 draw towards the break.

However, the second half witnessed a much exciting game with Madhur Sangh increasing the lead in the 49th minute through WONDR BOY Dewasis Rai from Ganesh Limboo´:s assist once again who scooped the ball inside the box and Rai tip the ball above Royal custodian Dipankar Debnath to find the net.

Ten minutes later Ghanesh Limboo made it 3-1 for Madhur Milan Sangh almost confirming a berth for the final.

Royal FC desperate to come back into the game brought in winger Lendup Bhutia and Nigerian Striker Timothy post an hour mark but Madhur Milan Sangh by this time boosted their confidence to such a level that it was not possible to bring them down.

However, Okam Franklin gave some hope to host with when he found the net from a close range in the 90th minute. But Royal FC received a major blow when Adendu was handed a red card by the ref. Adendu was caught smacking his opponent Dewasis by the referee who did not hesitated to give the marching order  for this act.

Madhur Milan Sangh will now wait for the opponents in the finals that will be decided after Kanchanjunga vs Baghajarin clash on Friday.
