Siliguri Premier League: Kanchanjunga FC 2-0 Baghajatin AC
Kanchanjunga FC reached the final of Siliguri Premier League after defeating hot contenders Baghajatin AC 2-0 in the last match of the league which could be called as the second semifinal, played at Ila Pal School Ground.
Baghajatin AC needed a point from the clash adopted to defensive tactics and where confined to counter attack and not worried to build up the attack. Kanchanjunga FC, on the other hand, needed full point from the clash, took advantage of the opponent’s defensive tactics and were aggressive with their attack.
However, both the teams failed to end the deadlock till the end of first half.
the second half witnessed Kanchanjunga FC taking the lead within five minutes through Amir Lama but the goal leads to an appealing for the handball, however, referee denied the appeal that resulted in a huge protest by Baghajatiin AC halting the game for almost fifteen minutes.
The protest took an ugly turn with Baghajatin FC custodian Joy Dutta was caught pushing assistant referee for which he was handed a RED CARD.
The game finally resumed after the technical committee had to intervene and take care of the situation. However, ten men, Baghajatin were unsettled and received another blow when Anmol Dahal gave 2-0 lead to Kanchanjunga FC.
The match continued with heated temper eventually leading the hosts Kanchenjunga FC to the final spot who will now face table toppers Madhur Milan Sangh.
