Madhur Milan Sangh and Kanchanjunga FC will fight to create history in the inaugural season of Siliguri Premier League....


The two finalist of the inaugural season of the Siliguri Premier League Surprised everyone topping the table at the end of the league as they kicked off the campaign as underdogs.


Madhur Milan Sangh Road to Finals... 


Madhur Milan Sangh was one of the most underrated teams in the league however Red Guns kicked off the season with 1-0 win against Amukta Pariwar which was the most talented team in Siliguri Premier League.


In the second match, however, the side received 2-0 defeat in the hands of Baghajatin AC and managed to earn a point from the away game against Kanchanjunga FC.  After which   Red Guns gathered to secure two points from the clash against Kanchangjunga FC and Amukta Pariwar away from home.

The low profile team made best out the squad and reached the top of the table after two consecutive wins at home against Kanchanjunga FC and Baghajatin AC gathering a total of 11 points from 6 games. With two games in hand, Madhur Milan Sangh was certain to make it to the final just needing a point from the remaining two clashes.


Red Guns, however, received 1-0 defeat against Royal FC at home and had to play the return leg at Royal Ground. The clash was no less than the semifinal as Royal needed a win to crash Madhur Milan Sangh hope.  The clash as expected was tight and Madhur Milan Sangh came back from a goal down to secure a 3-2 win and become the first team to reach the finals.


Kanchanjunga FC Road to finals....


Kanchanjunga FC started as one of the weaker contenders for the finals. They, however, proved all wrong and although the league campaign was below expectation.


Siliguri Rhinos opened their SPL season with a draw against Royal FC followed by 1-0 defeat at home ground at the hands of Baghajatin AC.


In their third clash, Kanchanjunga proved lethal for precious Amukta beating them four- nil. However, the inconsistency in the performance cost them at the mid-campaign as they drew against Madhur Milan Sangh and lost to Royal FC at home ground pushing them down to the bottom of the table.

Nevertheless the narrow away win against Amukta kept them alive in the league needing the win in the last match against Baghajatin too. The Siliguri Rhinos proved themselves tough against Baghajatin AC who was fans favorite entire season.  


The two titans fought for the supremacy on the field and Siliguri Rhinos paved the way into the finals lashing out Baghajatin from the contest on goal average.
