FIFA U-17 World Cup draw held, India clubbed alongside USA, Colombia and Ghana
Indian juniors will face USA, Colombia, and Ghana in the Group A of the 2017 FIFA U-17 World as per the official draw took place in Mumbai on Friday evening.
Numbered A1, India will play all their home matches at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. Alongside the USA (A2) Colombia (A3) and Ghana (A4) make up Group A.
The Indian side will open their campaign against USA on 6th October, the opening day of the tournament. They will take on Colombia and Ghana on 9th and 12th October respectively at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.
A total of 24 participating teams have been divided into six groups with four teams in each group. The matches will be played at six different venues including New Delhi. Navi Mumbai, Goa, Kochi, Guwahati, and Kolkata are other venues that will see the football fever. Kolkata will host the finals on 28th October.
The top two teams from each group and the four best third-placed teams will progress into the Round of 16 knockout stage.
