Juan Sebastian Penaloza scored twice in Colombia´s 2-1 win
Despite a commendable effort, India Under 17 team went down 1-2 to Colombia Under17 side in their second match of the Group Stage in the ongoing FIFA U17 World Cup played at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Delhi on Monday evening.
Indian kicked off the game defensively while their South American opponent where aggressive from the very beginning.

India had their first real chance at the end of the first quarter when Abhijit Sarkar played a good one-two with Ninthoinganba Meetei before beating a couple Colombian defenders inside the box and his shot on target was well blocked by goalkeeper Kevin Mier.
Two minutes later Indian custodian Dheeraj Singh made a brilliant save to keep the ball away off the free kick proving his excellence in the position. Indian defended well to avert all the dangers despite constant attack form Colombian side.

Four minutes down to second half Colombia took the lead from Juan Penaloza´s goal who received a diagonal pass inside the box and Penaloza beats Staling and Dheeraj to curl the ball into the net.
Indian were giving its best to get the goal and had created history in the 82 minute when Jeakson Singh connected Sanjeev Stalin corner kick perfectly to divert the ball into the net turning the whole stadium into the pool of celebration. Jeakson Singh is the first ever Indian goal in the FIFA.
However, the celebration was short lived as a minute later Penaloza scored his brace taking advantage of India´s celebration mode.
Indian who has been at their best this evening has to feel the defeat despite a commendable performance and historic goal by Jeakson Singh Thounaojam
