Paraguay and Mali advance into the next round of FIFA World Cup
Paraguay defeated Turkey 3-1 at Dr. DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai to complete their perfect third win the group B in the FIFA U-17 World Cup group stage.
Paraguay stepped into the game with the clear vision of win and earned the penalty kick in the very second minute but that was wonderfully saved by Turkish custodian Berke Ozer.
The deadlock came to an end the 25ht minute Giovanni Bogado whose curled free-kick went straight into the net. Two minutes later Fernando Cardozo put the ball into the back of the net on Blas Armoa cross.
Just after an hour mark Antonio Galeano left Turkish clueless whose left-footer got the deflection to land into the net to give Los Guaranies 3-0 lead.
Turkey fought back and managed to get a consolation in the injury minute through Kerem Kesgin.
In another match, Mali outplayed New Zealand 3-1 to finish the group B at second place behind Paraguay at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi.
Mali dominated the game from the start and took the lead in the 18th minute through Salam Jiddou strike. Traore doubled the lead for The Eagles in the 50th minute.
New Zealand showed some resistance and pulled back in the 72mnute through substitute Charles Spragg to bring in hope alive for The Whites.
Lassana N Diaye 82nd minute goal sealed the deal for Mali to push them into the next round of FIFA U17 World Cup.
Paraguay finished group stage with perfect three and Mali finished second in the Group B to confirm the second round move.
