The entertaining finale of the 5th Milan More Gold Cup saw Parimal Nagar SC emerged victorious after beating Kanchanjunga FC 4-3 in the penalty shootout after 1-1 scoreline at the end of regulation time at Milan More Ground on Sunday afternoon.
Kanchanjunga kicked off the game on the positive note with Bidhur Chettri running deep from the right wing before sending the lovely cross to unmarked Amir Lama inside the box, Lama, however, was marked offside.
Minutes later Kanchanjunga earned free kick and Bidhur kick was pushed away by Parimal Nagar custodian do avert the danger.
However, ten minutes down, the course of the game changed when Sudhir Saibo scored a brilliant goal after receiving the right-wing cross to give Parimal Nagar 1-0 lead.
Five minutes later Raj Subba´s free kick from the 45-yard area landed in front of Parimal Nagar keeper who fumbles and goes for the collection in the second attempt under pressure from Wangchuk Tamang.
Kachanjunga drives hard of the equalizer and in the 20th minute, Wangchuk Tamang´s shot from the right side of the box came off the woodwork much to his frustration. Parimal Nagar maintained the 1-0 lead at the break.
Four minutes down to second half Pariwar Nagar missed the golden opportunity to take the lead when Rahul Roy cross found teammate Akash Sarkar unmarked but Sarkar took too long to take the shot giving enough time for Kanchanjunga defender to react and the avert the danger.
Kanchanjunga FC in search of equalizer created move but lacked the finishing touch. However, their search for goal ended in the eighteenth minute of the second half when Amir Lama stretched his leg inside the box to hit the ball inside the net on a left-wing cross.
Amir had the golden opportunity to give his team the lead in the last quarter of the game when he received midfield cross at the edge of the box and drove in just Sandeep Routh, Parilmal custodian, to beat but his shot went above the bar under the challenge from Parimal defender.
The match took the road to the tiebreaker to decide the winner and Parimal goalkeeper stopped two shot to give underdogs the deserving championship title with a 4-3 scoreline.
