In the first leg of the AFC Preliminary Qualifier, Bengaluru FC were held to goalless draw by Transport United at the Changlimithang National Stadium in Bhutan on Tuesday afternoon.
The game began slowly with both sides opting to play cautiously and The Blues playing in unfamiliar weather condition where the temperatures dropped to as low as six degrees Celsius and took time to settle in the game.
The first half saw more of miss passes and losing the ball possession often from either side.
Second half saw some life in the game with Daniel Lalhimpuia receiving clear chance to give lead to visitors, however, failed to convert twice within five minutes after the restart
Bengaluru FC kept the ball possession for the majority of time in the second half proceeding but failed to provide the finishing touch.
The second leg will be played at Kanteerava Stadium on January 30, 2018, and need a clear win to progress to the second round of qualifiers in the 2018 AFC Cup.
