Reshme Chettri and Phurki Lhamu Bhutia, two Sikkimese women football referees has successfully passed the AIFF Category-2 Referee’s examination. They are the First women Referees from the state to become a national Referee. they are now qualified as a national level referee recognized by the All India Football Federation & Asian Football Confederation.
While Ms. Reshme Chettri hails from Pangthang, Ms. Phurkit Lhamu Bhutia is from Bhusuk, East Sikkim. Ms. Reshme Chettri is presently an employee of the Forest N Environment Wildlife Management Department n Ms. Phurkit Lhamu Bhutia is presently working in a private school in Gujarat.
Earlier these 2(Two) women referees from SFA, Ms. Phurki Bhutia, and Ms. Reshme Chettri attended FIFA Members Association Course at New Delhi from 17th to 21st Nov 2014. Both of them had succeeded in passing the course and they were qualified to attend 2nd, 3rd and 4th round in different places. Phurki and Reshme also attended Project Future India at Gandhinagar. They have cleared different courses and level at different places.
