In an entertaining Group A clash of the Desun Siliguri Premier League, hosts Amukta Pariwar went down 0-2 to Madhur Milan Sangh at Milan More Ground on Thursday evening.
The game kicked off in a wet pitch with Amukta Pariwar requiring a win. However, it was Madhur Sangh who had the first shot on target in the 8th minute. Madur Milan
Sangh earned a free kick at a distance. Free kick specialist Ela stepped in and fired a well-calculated shot that was collected by Amukta custodian in his second attempt.
In the 15th minute defending champions built up a great move on the counter when Manoj Kachuwa picked up a long clearance and played it towards the right for Sanjoy Toppo who rolled the ball further before making a cross for Raja Mallick inside the box. Raja, however, was intercepted by his marker before he could cause any danger.
Madhur Milan Sangh started their second half with an attacking strategy and started building constant pressure on Amukta Pariwar that finally paid off in the 54th minute through Ganesh Limboo who collected a free kick inside the box and dribbled past his marker before slotting the ball into the net.
As Amukta was fighting back for the equalizer Ganesh Limboo sealed the deal for Madhur Sangh with his 2nd goal. Sayan Sarkar collected the ball and dribbled past a couple of Amukta defenders before placing a wonderful through ball and Ganesh did well to cut past his marker before flicking the ball past Amukta Pariwar keeper.
With the win, Madhur Milan Sangh qualifies as table toppers in Group A while Amukta Pirwar will try to win the second leg match against the same opponent.
