United Kurseong FC secured 2-0 victory over Share FC in the 22nd match of the Desun Siliguri Premier League played on Sunday evening at Milan More Ground.
The match though will have no impact on their position to qualify for the play offs, both side however played in the true spirit of the game.
Kurseong side were in better position in terms of ball possession as they were building up the move and took the first shot on target in the 11th minute when UKFC earned a free kick and Chandra Prashad Rai´s header missed the bar by a whisker.
Prashant Gurung who was impressive throughout the game nearly found the net in the 25th for UKFC when he ran deep at the left flank beating his marker. He rolled the ball inside the box but failed to get that power that was needed in his shot.
UKFC enter into the break with 1-0 lead scored by Ronit Rai in the 44th minute.
The second half proceedings saw no interesting events happening except for substitute Shiva Routh´s goal in the 73rd minute that gave UKFC 2-0 lead.
Share FC struggled hard to get back into the game but lacked the finishing touch.
The win however keeps UKFC unmoved from their position in Group A standing with 5 points from equal number of outings and a game remaining while Share FC finish up their league campaign with 6 points.
Another win for UKFC will still not help Kurseong side to qualify for the last four.
Ronit Rai and Shiva Mangar scored in each half to hand United Kurseong their first SPL win....
