The third edition of the ConIFA World Football Cup will kick off today at London. The international event is hosted by Barawa this time and will be played in four different venues in and around London viz. Sutton, Bromley, Enfield, and Haringey.
This year a total of 16 teams qualified for the ConIFA World Football Cup. The qualified team are: Abkhazia, Barawa, Cascadia, Ellan Vannin, Kabylia, Karpatalya, Matabeleland, Northern Cyprus, Padania, Panjab, Székely Land, Tamil Eelam, Tibet, Tuvalu, United Koreans in Japan and Western Armenia.
Each team is divided into four groups:
Group 1: Barawa, Ellan Vannin, Tamil Eelam, Cascadia
Group 2: Abkhazia, Northern Cyprus, Karpatalya, Tibet
Group 3: Padania, Székely Land, Tuvalu, Matabeleland
Group 4: Panjab, United Koreans in Japan, Western Armenia, Kabylia
The top two team from each group will qualify for the knock out round in the second stage.
What is ConIFA?
The Confederation of Independent Football Associations (ConIFA) is the international governing body for Non-FIFA affiliated Associations for football, futsal, and beach soccer. Currently, ConIFA is responsible for the organization of the ConIFA World Cup and the ConIFA European Championship CONIFA provides an outlet for countries, sub-national entities, stateless peoples and ethnic minorities to play international football.

Who are the participants?
The participant of the tournament goes through a series of planned qualifier friendly matches and tournaments, together with the ConIFA European Football Cup under ConIFA.
