Lonestar Kashmir FC grabbed their consecutive third point in the 3rd round match against PIFA
Underdogs Lonestar Kashmir FC who defeated Mohammedan Sporting Club in their previous encounter looked confident from the beginning in the field against PIFA Sports.
The Kashmir side dominated the whole game with more of ball possession and regular attack. Kashmir had their real chance to take the lead in 30th minute when they were rewarded penalty but Kareem Nurain who stepped in to take the shot wasted the golden opportunity by hitting the ball way above the bar.
PIFA Sports played some good counter attacking football but they lacked the sharpness to beat the Kashmiri goalie.
Lonestar Kashmir FC continued their good possession and kept attacking the PIFA’s half and they finally got rewarded in 55th minute when Rohit Kumar brilliantly chipped the ball past goalkeeper into the net.
PIFA Sport was desperate to come back in the match and get the equalizer but they could not create the chance to get a goal.
In the 83rd minute Lonestar nearly doubled the lead when S.K. Faiaz thoughtfully tried to chip the ball into bar but PIFA custodian James Swamy jumped up to make a brilliant save.
Lonestar Kashmir FC now moves into third place with 6 points Reben from 3 games and PIFA slips down to seventh position with 1 point from 3 games.
