Chanmari FC losses top spot, Aizawl FC leads and Eric Brown scores his hattrick.....

 

In the ongoing 2nd Division I-league northeast clubs Aizawl FC and Chanmari FC tops the eight team table after fourth round of matches.

 

In today’s fourth round games Aizawl FC defeated Hindustan FC in a very exciting match played at Kanchajunga Stadium.

 

Aizawl FC trying to maintain their previous form was confident on the field while Hindustan FC wanted to grab three points to keep them self as strong contender to top the table.

 

By the end of the first half both the teams failed to take the lead with the opportunity they created. But the second half witnessed five goals coming in from two sides.

 

Aizawl FC looked confident again in the second half and they kept their pressure on Hindustan FC back line and were successful in finding the net in 48 and in 62nd minute through Alfred K Jaryan’s  wondeful finish. Hindustan FC desperate to find the equalizer displayed some good football and got the equalizer through O.Sola’s brace in 77th and 88th minute respectively.

 

 Aizawl FC took no time to maintain the lead as H. Lalbiakthanga brilliantly struck from outside the box in 89th minute thus keeping the Aizawl’s winning momentum in track. Aizawl FC now tops the table with 12 point from 4 games.

 

United Sports Club defeated Kenkre Sports 5-3 in another fourth round match. United Sports who looked good in the field was leading the score line with 4-1 at the end of first half.

 

Eric Brown who scored hat trick for United Sport gave lead to his team in 12 seconds of play and his other two goals came in at 43rd and 76th minute. Kenkre Sports was quick to respond in early first half as they got the equalizer in 7th minute but United Sports were composed and took the lead in 23rd and kept scoring in regular interval. The own goal in the added minute of first half from Othallo Tabia after Azaharduddin Mallick shot hit Tabai’s leg to find the own net was the turning point.

 

United was adopted much of defensive play from the beginning of second half and Kenkre Sports trying to take advantage of the defensive play  kept invading and were successful in reducing the goal margin through 59th and 90th minutes goals from Yao Kouassi Bernard. But it was too late for them to come back into the game and do anything more.

 

United Sports have now 6 points from 4 games with 2 win and 2 lose and are in 5th position.

 

In another fourth round match Mohammedan Sporting got their most needed win defeating PIFA Sports 5-0 after the two consecutive lost again Lonestar Kashmir FC and Aizawl FC in their previous encounter.

 

Brace each from Somide Oluwawunmi Adelaja (33’ and 59’) and Ashim Biswas(78’ and 80’) and Bijendra Rai’s 75th minute goal humiliated PIFA Sports in SSB Ranidanga ground.

 

Mohammedan Sporting now holds 4th position with 6 points from 4 games after Lonestar Kashmir who is in third with 9 points from 4 games.

And to everyone’s surprise Chanmari FC was defeated by Lonestar Kashmri 1-2 at SSB Ranidanga thus losing the top berth that they were holding till the end of third round.

 

The African strikers stole the show in the fourth round matches.
