The second phase of the 2nd Division I-league commenced yesterday at Golahat in three different venues.

In the opening game of the second phase United Sports came strong to share a point each with table leader Aizawl FC after a goal less draw.

Golaghat stadium witnessed a tough match in the opening second phase match where United Sport Club fought hard to avoid Aizawl FC’s attack. North east side on the other hand was not very sharp on their attack and lacked the team coordination they showcased in the first phase matches at Siliguri.

In another exciting second phase match Mohammedan Sporting came from behind and steals three points to take revenge of their previous encounter where they lost to Lonestar Kashmir 1-2 at Kanchanjunga Stadium, Siliguri.

Lonestar Kashmir was at one goal cushion at the start of the second half, through a 19th minute goal form Ajay Singh. Mohammedan Sporting desperate to come back to game fought well and took the 2-1 lead in the 71st minute after a fine goal from Daniel Bedemi Ayeni and Snadeep Sangha’s 59th minute goal.

With the win Black Panther now has 13 points out of 8 games and Lonestar Kashmir has 16 points with equal number of games and holds the second spot at the moment.

PIFA Sports yet again struggled to register a win in the league as they went down 1-0 against Hindustan FC at PTC Stadium Dergaon Assam.bokaghat

PIFA at the moment are going through a tough time. In the first phase they struggle due to the injuries during practice and as when they moved to Golaghat for the remaining matches of the 2nd Division I-league the team has to struggle to get the good lodging facilities.
