Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard hung his boots from international duties last month following England´s departure from FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
The 36 year old midfielder revealed that his conversation with the young Manchester United fullback Luke Shaw helped him take the decision to retire from International football.
Lampard stated: "I was having a chat with Luke Shaw and I mentioned Tony Adams and he didn´t seem to know who I was talking about."I said: “Are you winding me up?” And he said: “Who did he play for?” I knew then that it was time to retire.´
Frank Lampard has had over 100 international caps for his country in an international career of 16 years. He is currently under loan at Manchester City and will be joining New York City FC in March next year.
A conversation with Luke Shaw prompted Frank Lampard to retire from International football.
