Aizawl FC continues to top the eight-team table after the 11th round match with 25 points from 11 games and Lonestar Kashmir holds the 2nd position with the equal number of points and the same number of games. Goal difference, however, separates the two teams. Aizawl FC with 19 goals has 11 goals advantage over Lonestar who has a total of 9 goals so far.
Aizawl FC´s unbeaten run in the 2nd phase was denied by Lonestar Kashmir as they beat the Mizoram side 2-0 to the surprise of everyone on Thursday 30th April at PTC Stadium Dergaon.
Aizawl FC has earlier defeated Hindustan FC and PIFA Sports in the 9th and 10th round 5-0 and 3-5 respectively.
Kashmir side has earned applaud from every corner for Indian Football fraternity and they are now the hot contender along with Chanmari FC to top the table with three games remaining in the 2nd phase.
Kolkata side on the other hand looks far away from the top position as they struggle with their form and has remained in the 4th position with 20 points with three games remaining.
Mohammedan Sporting though displayed some consistency in the last three games of 2nd phase rounds as they beat Kenkre FC 4-3, drew against Chanmari FC 2-2 and defeated PIFA 2-0 in 9th, 10th, and 11th round respectively. Black Panther need the mercy of losing the upcoming games from frontline team Aizawl FC and Lonestar Kashmir FC and at the same time, Kolkata side has to win remaining three games.
Both the Mumbai side failed to show any impact on the competition as they are struggling to get any major win. Kenkre FC, however, managed to get two wins and gave some close fight to the top teams like Mohammedan Sporting Chanmari FC. Their two wins came against the local rival PIFA sports and Delhi club Hindustan FC.
The least said the better for PIFA as they are yet to register a win in the competition and are at 8th position with three points from three draws off 11 games.
United FC showed some resistance at the beginning of the 2nd phase of 2nd division I-league but their journey so far is been inconsistent as they have managed to earn just 13 points from 11 games with 4 wins and 6 loss and a draw. Their dream to play the next session I-league looks subdued.
Hindustan FC yet again has no hope of playing the I-league next season in spite of their long football history. Delhi based club has just 11 points from the equal number of games with three wins and two draws and 6 loss.
