In an entertaining 1st semifinal match of the 6th edition of Lt. Rudralal Adhikary and Krishna Kumari Bhandari Memorial winners Gold Cup and Lt Sovham Singh Kherwar & Tulsi Prashad Sharma Runners Cup popularly known as Milan More Gold Cup, organized by Madhur Milan Sangh United Fc Darjeeling defeated Nabankur Sangha to book their spot in the finals.
Interestingly Nabankur Sangha fielded same set of 10 African players who defeated United Brothers in the quarter final match. The match was tougher indeed for Darjeeling side as the African players were unbeatable in terms of their physic and pace.
As expected Nabankur Sangha secured the lead in the 32 minutes through Emaka who was unmarked at the left side of the box off Arman´s cross.
The goal changed the tempo of the game and United FC started looking for an equalizer. Two minutes before the half time whistle Darjeeling side earned a corner kick and Wangden Tamang;s corner kick found Sachins header that got the deflection of Emamun to find own net.
The equalizer boosted United FC and they kicked off the second half with more confidence and adopted a different tactics. United FC were charging the African players more but were more defensive in their play as it looked clear that somehow wanted extend the match to a tie breaker.
Nonetheless, both side created a couple of good move but failed to convert any of them. The game eventually headed to tiebreaker after 1-1 scoreline at the end of regulation time.
United FC converted 3 of the five shot taken while Nabankur Sangha converted only 2 handing the victory to Darjeeling with 3-2 tie breaker result.
The second semifinal will be played tomorrow between Royal FC and Damak FC(Nepal) and the winner will play United FC in the final on the 6th of January.
