Sikkim reaches final round in the 73rd National football championship after more than 15 years.
Sikkim held 31 times champions West Bengal to a 1-1 draw today at Bhillai Chhattisgarh thus making their way into the quarter-finals of Santosh Trophy after more than a decade.
It was Sikkim who took the lead in the 12th minute through Sonam Zampo but 2017 Champions West Bengal managed the get the equalizer through Arijit Singh.
In their previous outing, Sikkim had defeated Bihar 4-1, and after holding West Bengal to a 1-1 draw today, they stand at the top of their Group with the highest number of goals.
