I-League: Bengaluru FC 1-2 Sporting Clube de Goa
Bengaluru FC received their second defeat in I-league in the hands of Sporting Club de Goa at Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bangalore.
Ashley Westwood picked up Alwyn George and CK Vineeth with James Collins debut while Mateus Costa decided to go with Mahmoud Al Amnah returned as Denson Devadas and Seriton Fernandes in the starting XI.
Home side had fine beginning of the game with Sunil earning an early corner that saw Michael Collins shot just missed the cross bar. Three minutes later Odafa Okolie found the lead for visitors after John Johnson failed to clear the ball from the box.
Dharmaraj Ravanan picked up his second yellow of the match in 21st minute when he elbowed Alwyn George and was given marching order by referee.
Though home side made some good moves but ten men Sporting Club de Goa enjoyed the ball possession and maintained the lead till the end of first half.
Bengaluru FC kept the opposition at the bay as they looked renewed their attack and determined to get back. The Blue side effort finally got paid when CK Vineeth strike in the 64th minute when his shot went past Sporting keeper Arindam Bhattacharya.
However the Blue joy lived short as Odafa Okolie shot from the edge of the box went past Amrinder Singh to hit the net.
With the win Sporting Club de Goa moved into the top four with ten points whereas Bengaluru are still holding the top position with East Bengal and Mohun Bagan on their tails.
CK Vineeth´s equalizer was not enough to hold back Odafa Okolie who scored brace for the visiting side
