A club that tries to bond together all the Gorkhas who are away from home and unite them through Football

 

A Special Report

 

Gorkha Football Club is the Sports wing of the GYASA. GYASA a Youth Organization from Delhi are engaged in social activities for the good of Gorkha community with their social activities helping and awaking the community people away from home.

 

The sporting wing of GYASA came into existence three years back with the name Gorkha FC with the motive of promoting sports and finding talents from the community apart from fostering unity, friendship, understating and sportsmanship among community people. The club currently has two team with GFC ‘A’ and GFC ‘B’. The club also aims to start a women’s football team soon.

 

The team is headed by Colonel (Retd) Sukul Pradhan, Ex-Deputy Director of NCC headquarter Delhi and supported by Dinesh Sharma, Supreet Raj, NeerajChhetri,  Amit Sharma, Sangeeta Sharma and Rajen Chhetry among the other active members of the club.

 

The Club train themselves at Sirifort Sports Complex Delhi and is actively participating in various football competitions in and around Delhi NCR region.


Gorkha FC

 

Gorkha FC recently competed in the Qutab Premier League 2016 and was runners up. In 2015, the team played Adidas Uprising Cup 2015 in Ambedkar Stadium New Delhi and finished second. Now the team is preparing for North East Tamchon Trophy 2016. 

 


The North East Tamchon Football Tournament is an annual Northeast Community football tournament, which caters and works for exposing the young talents of the region to the various national and international platforms. Since its inception in 2007 more than 3000 football players have participated in the tournament.

 


The Gorkha FC supports their financial needs thorough different activities like setting up food stalls during football competitions and other sporting events. Goalie365 team wishes them all the best and hope the club will continue to serve the community and scout more sporting talents.
