The Kolkata based Indian Super League franchise; Atletico de Kolkata (ATK) will adopt Rabindra Sarobar Stadium as their home ground for the ISL 2016.
Opened in 1961 Rabindra Sarobar Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Moira Street, Hindustan Park, Dhakuria Kolkata. The stadium serves as the home of Tollygunge Agragami of the Calcutta Premier Division. The Stadium has the official capacity of 22000.
The necessary renovation is underway and should be made fit before 2 October 2016 when ATK new head coach José Molina will host defending Chennaiyin FC in the new turf.
Salt Lake Stadium, that served as Atletico De Kolkata´s home ground for the first two edition of Indian Super League, was selected as one of the main venues for the Under-17 World Cup, scheduled to be held in 2017, the stadium was bound for several renovations before the FIFA inspection team arrive in October and this the venue could not be made available for ISL matches for the third season.
