Four Coaches from Sikkim Cleared for AFC C License

 

Four young aspiring coaches Karma Gyaltsen Bhutia, Alpan Lepcha, Tenzing Tsephel and Micheal Lepcha all hailing from Sikkim have successfully cleared the AFC C license certification course for Football coaches.

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) with support from the Sikkim Football Association (SFA) had organized a 13 days camp for the aspiring football coaches at Paljor Stadium, Gangtok from 5th June to 17th June 2014. To conduct this course, they had deputed AFC chief instructor Mr. M. Savio.

A total of 24 aspiring coaches had attended the camp and later sat for the examination.

Mr. B.K Roka, president of the SFA congratulated the four coaches for their accomplishment and advised the rest not to get discouraged but to try again in the near future. Mr. M Ethenpa, General Secretary of the SFA said, “we are feeling proud that with this, we have 20 (twenty) AFC "C" License Holder coaches and 1(one) AFC "B" License Holder Coach in Sikkim”.

“The pass certificates which are arriving from AFC Headquarters at Kualaumpur will be handed over to the four successful candidates in the final of the 35th All India Governors Gold Cup Football Tournament on 21st Oct 2014.” Mr. Ethenpa added. He later thanked the AFC and the AIFF for granting the course to Sikkim and further assured to bring more such courses for the benefit of Sikkim Football.
